Folic Acid: The debate continues

But is there another controversy lurking beneath the surface?

Folic Acid is to be added to all non-wholemeal wheat flour sold in the UK from 13th December 2026¹. The Department of Health and Social Care estimates it will prevent around 200 neural tube defect (NTD) pregnancies a year². However, what is not being discussed are three smaller stories lurking in the background that involve monitoring, a decision-making process and a Government webpage that quietly changed twice.
