Groundhog Day, Lockdown - The Sequel?

There seems to be growing calls in some quarters for the reintroduction of such measures as mask wearing and even lockdowns due to the rising case numbers of measles, meningitis and so-called covid variants being reported. This begs the question: did we learn nothing from the last time?
